Great...when it works May 02, 2010

I bought this in December and loved it. Playlists are a snap, loading is automatic, updating is a breeze, podcasts are easy to find and subscribe to. I knew I'd made the right choice to get this rather than an iPod.
Then my hard drive died in Feb. I sent it back and took a month to get a replacement. The replacement (new not refurb) had a battery that wouldn't hold a charge and the operating system was 2 full #'s out of date. I fully charged it, turned it off, and by morning, it was only half charged. I charged it fully the first Friday and turned it off, by Sunday morning it didn't even have enough charge to turn on when I plugged it into my computer. Again, I had to send it back and do without for a month.
In short, I love it when I have it, but I am getting very tired of returning it and doing without for weeks at a time. If the 2nd replacement (due to arrive next week) doesn't work correctly, I will demand my money back.
I took a gamble when I bought this since I'd seen lots of reviews like this one, but it seemed that if you got one that worked, it was great. That's true, just understand you are gambling for a good one if you buy a Zune...so good luck to you!!!
EDIT: The 3rd Zune I got was a black one instead of red, which didn't matter to me at all. It has been working beautifully for over a year now. I listen to it almost all day at work, virtually every day, so it gets a workout. Perhaps it was just the red ones that had issues. Now, I am very glad I purchased the Zune. It is worth the hassle to get one that works, since they do replace it when needed and once you get one that works, you've got a GREAT product! It holds my whole music collection, lots of podcasts, Audible books as well as the FM radio. I never run out of things to listen to and it is so easy to sync. Love it!
Very High Quality for a Digital Sound Player Sep 29, 2010
By Mark D150 I bought this product because it's one of the few that supports songs in a format called "WMA Lossless" (Windows Media Audio Lossless) which gives the same quality of a CD. When I hear the original CD tracks and then switch to de device I can not notice the diference (I'm a music lover and I consider my ear educated to distinguish the difference) I you want superior Quality in sound you should go for this one, if Quality of the song is not important there are other players cheaper.
I like it....If it doesn't crap out Jul 03, 2010

I love this device. I have had two zunes before this with no problems. I wanted this one because of its large harddrive space and ability to hold a majority of songs. THIS one however has cause me a head ache with no avail. I have had mine in service for OVER 2 months, when I called to talk to customer service they told me my device had already been shipped, and then told me that it had been shipped to INDIANA!!! I live in California!
So now that I am leaving to go out of town on a 12 hour flight I will not have my Zune. (By the way the one I am waiting on is the SECOND replacement for the original one that I bought). I went out after I talked to them and bought an IPod Touch. As much as I am not an apple fan, their device works.
I also asked if Zune would reimburse me at face value for my product that has been broken and they said they could not do that. The Zune itself is great if it does not break. Customer service from Microsoft is ok, they are nice, but SLOW as heck!

Excellent Buy Mar 31, 2010
By David G. Quante Excellent product. I had an I-Pod however had trouble loading different types of media and music files on it. However, the Zune will accept everything I've loaded onto it. With 120gb you can load an entire radio station onto it.
